Faddegon’s is looking for two Front End Supervisors who would be jointly responsible for providing an ideal shopping experience for our guests by listening and responding to customer needs, having reliant product knowledge and positive energy level, paired with clear communication skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures all customers receive the best possible service throughout their entire shopping experience, including greeting customers entering the store, and responding promptly to customer needs
  • Creates weekly schedule, ensuring proper coverage of front counter
  • Answers telephone calls
  • Directs customers to proper department associates
  • Handles all types of customer transactions; receives payment and is responsible for accuracy of this processes
  • Supervises staff, including training and motivation to achieve sales goals
  • Looks after and makes sure the front counter area and sales floor are properly maintained, restocked, and organized each day
  • Works closely with customers in the gift shop to make sales
  • Maintains a friendly, polite, and professional manner with customers and staff alike at all times

Key qualifications and skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior supervisory experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Decision-making abilities and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and assess priorities on seasonal basis
  • Ability to train current and new employees
  • Ability to responsibly handle large sums and assist with reconciling discrepencies
  • Efficient use of computers (Familiarity with POS/Windows Office preferred)
  • Capable of being on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends a must


    Faddegon’s is looking for a Business Office Assistant with an ability to multi task. Responsibilities include daily register receipt reconciliation, supplies procurement, filing, a/p administrative tasks. Answer phone

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage all A/P overflow tasks.
    • Procure supplies for all garden center offices.
    • Manage incoming mail Daily register receipt reconciliation.
    • Daily computer back up.
    • Maintain customer product request list and notify customers when product arrives.
    • Follow up on customer orders.
    • Help with all work flow as seasonally required.
    • Process website gift card orders.
    • Make sure no customer is underserved.
    • Process online gift cards and job applications.

    Key qualifications and skills

    • 2 years in business office environment preferred.
    • Clean driver’s license.
    • Proficient in excel and word.
    • Proficient in electronic mail and browser software.
    • Familiarity with a/p and retail software.
    • Ability to drive for errands. (Compensated by the mile.)
    • Acts with Integrity. Demonstrates responsible and honest behavior in all roles
    • Ability to multi task and prioritize work flow Service Orientation.

    Faddegon’s is open year-round and during our busy season we hire extra staff. Seasonal employment is available for temporary and/or part-time positions.     Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinating deliveries/plantings with Senior Foreman
    • Delivering plant/plant materials throughout Albany and surrounding counties
    • Planting of trees/shrubs/bushes/flowers on customer’s property in designated location(s)
    • Assess if additional equipment is required due to soil type/location(s) of planting
    • Faciliate communications between Senior Forement and customer to ensure job is completed satisfactorily
    • Re-stocking plant material
    • Mowing and weeding
    • Assist with basic maintenance of grounds and property

    Key qualifications and skills

    • Clean driving record
    • High school diploma/GED preferred
    • 18 years of age or older
    • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends a must
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Flexible, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude
    • Familiarity with navigating Albany area preferred but not required
